Is Notion Habit Heroes free?
Notion Habit Heroes is free to use at the €0 tier with no time limit. The free plan includes unlimited habits, streak tracking, the Notion integration and widget, shareable streak cards, freeze days, and the ability to join duels others create. Upgrading to Pro (€3.99 per month or €39.99 per year, with a 14-day free trial) adds the ability to create competitions and duels, Insights with all-time records, and priority support. You can stay on the free tier indefinitely with no card required.
Is Notion Habit Heroes safe? What can it access in my Notion?
When you connect Notion, you grant OAuth access to a specific database you choose. Notion Habit Heroes can only read that one database and cannot access anything else in your workspace. Your habit data stays in your own Notion workspace; the app reads checkbox values to compute streaks and points, and nothing is copied elsewhere. Payments are handled by Stripe, so card details never reach our servers. The service is operated from the EU under GDPR. You can disconnect your Notion workspace at any time from your profile page.
Should I use a free Notion habit tracker template or the app?
A Notion template works well for simple daily checkboxes and personal habit logging. Notion Habit Heroes is a good fit once you want features that Notion formulas cannot compute on their own: automatic streak counters, gamified points, group competitions with a leaderboard, and 1-on-1 duels. The app works alongside the template; your habits stay in Notion, and the app adds the social and gamification layer on top. How do I connect my Notion workspace?
Start by duplicating the official Notion Habit Heroes template into your own Notion account. Then sign up (or log in) on this site and click Connect Notion. You'll be taken to Notion's OAuth authorization page where you grant access to your habit database. Once you authorize, the connection is established and your habits will be picked up during the next nightly sync.
When does my data sync?
Habit data is synced once nightly at midnight in your configured timezone — there is no live sync. Changes you make to your Notion habits during the day are reflected after the next nightly sync. Your streaks and points are recalculated at the same time.
How do streaks and points work?
Each habit earns points when it is completed. Every habit has its own streak counting consecutive days on which that habit was completed. Completing all your habits in a single day is a "perfect day" and earns a bonus. In competitions, leaderboard points rank you against others in your group.
How do streaks work across time zones?
Each user's habit data syncs nightly at midnight in their own configured timezone, so users in different countries each have their streaks updated at their local midnight rather than a shared global time. A self-healing job also runs every morning to catch any sync that was missed due to a technical issue and re-runs it automatically. This means a missed nightly sync will not silently break a streak; the morning job closes the gap before the next day begins.
How do I disconnect Notion?
Go to your Profile page and click Disconnect Notion. Your habit history, streaks, and points are kept — sync simply stops until you reconnect. If you reconnect the same Notion database, syncing resumes and picks up from where you left off.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your Profile page and select Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, habit history, streaks, and competition data. Payment records are retained for legal compliance (10 years under German tax law).
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
All billing is handled through the Stripe customer portal. From your Profile page, click Manage Subscription to open the portal, where you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time.
