Get ready for Season 1How it works

What Season 1 is

  • A 31-day habit competition from January 1 to January 31, 2027, open to every account. No entry fee, no paid plan, no purchase.
  • Your daily habit checkboxes in Notion are synced every night at your midnight and turned into points. The season leaderboard ranks every participant by total points.
  • Season 0 in October 2026 was the founding season. Season 1 is the first season with a name chosen by a player: the Season 0 top scorer picks it.
  • Every finisher earns the Season finisher badge on their profile. The Founding Hero badge stays exclusive to Season 0.

Dates

  • Season 1 opens on January 1, 2027. The last scoring day is January 31.
  • The name is announced in November, once the Season 0 top scorer has chosen it. It will appear on this page, on the home page and in the season start email.
  • Joining opens in December, when Season 1 appears as the featured challenge on the home page and on the competitions page.
  • Connect before January 1 to be on the board from the first day. Every habit you track before then builds your streak and your stats; season points start on January 1.

How to join

  1. Create a free account. Press the button on this page. Sign-up takes a minute.
  2. Connect your Notion habit tracker. No tracker yet? The connect step copies the free Notion template into your workspace for you.
  3. Join the season. From December, one click on the featured challenge card puts you on the leaderboard. A late join is fine too: your points count from the day before you join, nothing earlier.

Connect now and your streak is already running when the season opens.

What finishers get

  • The Season finisher badge on your profile, awarded automatically when the season closes.
  • You count as a finisher if you are still a participant when the season closes with more than zero points.
  • A shot at the final podium: the top three in each of three categories, total points, average completion rate and perfect days.

Why January

Season 1 was first announced for December. It moved to January so that the season and the new year begin on the same day.

  • The habits you want for 2027, tracked from day one, with a leaderboard behind them instead of a resolution list.
  • A full calendar month: 31 scoring days, same as Season 0, so the two seasons compare.
  • The gap is not empty. Connect now, build your streak, and run 1-on-1 duels or your own competitions with friends until the season opens.

The name

  • The Season 0 top scorer names Season 1. That promise and its rules live on the Season 0 page.
  • The full title reads "Season 1: the chosen name" and is announced in November on the blog and here.

Questions

Does Season 1 cost anything?
No. Notion Habit Heroes is free for individuals, so the season is free too. No card, no trial.
Do I need the Notion Habit Heroes template?
No. Any Notion database with checkbox or number habits works once it is connected. The template is the fastest start if you have nothing yet.
Can I still earn the Founding Hero badge?
No. It was awarded once, to the Season 0 finishers, and will never be awarded again. Season 1 finishers earn the Season finisher badge.
What if I miss a day?
You stay in the season. Points come from every habit you complete, a missed day simply scores nothing. Your streaks reset, the season does not.
Can I join after January 1?
Yes, as long as the season is running. Your points count from the day before you join, so the earlier you join, the more days score.
Was Season 1 not planned for December?
It was. The date moved to January so the season starts with the new year. Nothing else changed: same length, same rules, same naming promise.
Where do I see my rank?
On the competitions page once you have joined, and in the Notion widget if you embed it in your workspace.
