Everyone who finished Season 0: Founding Heroes, October 1 to October 31, 2026, earned the Founding Hero badge. It will never be awarded again. The hall of fame post follows on the blog in November.

What Season 0 is

  • One site-wide competition. Everybody runs the same season at the same time.
  • Your points come from the checkboxes in your own Notion habit tracker. The app reads them every time you open the widget, plus every night at midnight in your timezone.
  • Everyone who joins sits on the same leaderboard. No divisions, no brackets, no invite needed.
  • Season 0 is the first of a series. That makes the people in it the founding class.

Dates

  • The season starts on October 1 at your local midnight.
  • The last scoring day is October 31.
  • Results are final once every timezone has passed October 31, so expect them on November 1 to 2.
  • Joining was open before and during the season. Points counted from the day before you joined, so joining before October 1 meant scoring from day one.

What finishers get

  • The Founding Hero badge on your account, awarded automatically when the season closes. Season 0 is the only season that awards it. Later seasons award their own badges under their own names.
  • You count as a finisher if you are still a participant when the season closes with more than zero points.
  • Your name in the Season 0 hall of fame post on the blog, published in November.

Every finisher goes in the hall of fame

  • In November the blog publishes the Season 0 hall of fame post. Every finisher is listed in it, permanently.
  • You appear under the display name shown on the leaderboard, never under your email address.
  • The top scorer is listed twice: as a finisher and as the person who named Season 1.
  • Prefer not to be named? Email contact@notionhabitheroes.com before the post goes out and your line is left out.

The top scorer names Season 1

Season 1 runs January 1 to January 31, 2027 (dates and rules). The person at the top of the Season 0 leaderboard chooses what it is called. Here are the rules in full.

  • Who wins it. The highest total points in Season 0 at the moment the season closes.
  • Ties. The higher average completion percentage wins. Level again? The higher number of perfect days wins. Level a third time? The earlier join date wins. The leaderboard applies this order itself, so the podium you see is already the final order.
  • Founder accounts are not eligible. The founder plays the season but cannot take the naming right. It passes to the next eligible finisher.
  • What naming means. You pick the words after the colon. The full title reads "Season 1: your name" so the whole thing has to fit inside 50 characters, which is the width of the competition name field.
  • You have 14 days. The clock starts when the founder's results email reaches you. If no usable name arrives in that window, the founder names Season 1 while still crediting you as the Season 0 winner.
  • There is a veto. Trademarked, offensive, or otherwise unpublishable names get refused. You will be asked for an alternative. Nothing gets swapped silently.
  • Where your name shows up. The Season 1 title on the homepage plus the competition page, the season start email, the Season 0 hall of fame post, the Season 1 announcement.

Questions

Can I join after October 1?
Joining was open on any day up to October 31. Points counted from the day before you joined, so a late start cost points rather than the place in the season.
What happens if two people tie on points?
The higher average completion percentage wins, then the higher number of perfect days, then the earlier join date. The leaderboard applies this order itself; the founder only checks it when publishing the results.
Can the founder win the naming right?
No. The founder's own accounts are excluded from it. If one of them finishes on top, the naming right passes to the next eligible finisher.
What counts as a point?
A habit you ticked in your own Notion habit tracker on the day it belongs to. The sync reads those checkboxes whenever you open the widget, plus every night at midnight in your timezone. The scoring is spelled out on how it works.
Does Season 0 cost anything?
No. There is no entry fee. Notion Habit Heroes is free for individuals, so the season is free as well.
Where do I see the results?
The live leaderboard sits on the competition page while the season runs. Once every timezone has passed October 31 the final podium shows on the competition page. The hall of fame post on the blog follows within a few days.
Will the Founding Hero badge be awarded again?
No. It goes to Season 0 finishers only. Season 1 and every season after it award a badge of their own under a different name.
