What Season 0 is

One site-wide competition. Everybody runs the same season at the same time.
Your points come from the checkboxes in your own Notion habit tracker. The app syncs them every night in your timezone.
Everyone who joins sits on the same leaderboard. No divisions, no brackets, no invite needed.
Season 0 is the first of a series. That makes the people in it the founding class.

Dates

The season starts on October 1 at your local midnight.
The last scoring day is October 31.
Results are final once every timezone has passed October 31, so expect them on November 1 to 2.
You can join before or during the season. Points count from the day you join, so joining before October 1 means scoring from day one.

How to join

Create a free account. Sign up at register. It takes a minute.
Connect your Notion habit tracker. No tracker yet? Duplicate the free Notion template first, then connect it.
Join the season. Open Competitions in the app, pick Season 0: Founding Heroes, join it.

Connect before October 1 to be on the board from the first day.

What finishers get

The Founding Hero badge on your account, awarded automatically when the season closes.
You count as a finisher if you are still a participant when the season closes with more than zero points.
A place in the Season 0 hall of fame post on the blog.

The top scorer names Season 1

Season 1 runs December 1 to December 31, 2026. The person at the top of the Season 0 leaderboard chooses what it is called. Here are the rules in full.

Who wins it. The highest total points in Season 0 at the moment the season closes.
Ties. The higher average completion percentage wins. Level again? The higher number of perfect days wins. Level a third time? The earlier join date wins. This is applied by hand, because the scoring code has no tie-break of its own.
Founder accounts are not eligible. The founder plays the season but cannot take the naming right. It passes to the next eligible finisher.
What naming means. You pick the words after the colon. The full title reads "Season 1: your name" so the whole thing has to fit inside 50 characters, which is the width of the competition name field.
You have 14 days. The clock starts when the founder's results email reaches you. If no usable name arrives in that window, the founder names Season 1 while still crediting you as the Season 0 winner.
There is a veto. Trademarked, offensive, or otherwise unpublishable names get refused. You will be asked for an alternative. Nothing gets swapped silently.
Where your name shows up. The Season 1 title on the homepage plus the competition page, the season start email, the Season 0 hall of fame post, the Season 1 announcement.

Questions

Can I join after October 1?: Yes. You can join on any day up to October 31. Your points count from the day you join, so a late start costs you points rather than your place in the season.
What happens if two people tie on points?: The higher average completion percentage wins, then the higher number of perfect days, then the earlier join date. The founder applies the tie-break by hand while publishing the results.
Can the founder win the naming right?: No. The founder's own accounts are excluded from it. If one of them finishes on top, the naming right passes to the next eligible finisher.
What counts as a point?: A habit you ticked in your own Notion habit tracker on the day it belongs to. The nightly sync reads those checkboxes in your timezone. The scoring is spelled out on how it works.
Does Season 0 cost anything?: No. There is no entry fee. Notion Habit Heroes is free for individuals, so the season is free as well.
Where do I see the results?: The live leaderboard sits on the competition page while the season runs. Once every timezone has passed October 31 the final podium shows on the competition page. The hall of fame post on the blog follows within a few days.
