Notion Habit Tracker Widget with Streaks, Leaderboards and Duels

The Notion Habit Heroes widget is a small web page you embed in a Notion page with an /embed block. It shows an automatic streak for every habit, a progress bar for today, completion rates, weekly goals, competition leaderboards, 1-on-1 duels and Insights. Everything in it is computed from the checkboxes in your own Notion habit database.

Free, with no paid tier for individuals. You keep ticking your habits in Notion; the widget sits right next to them.

Try the live demo

This is the real widget running on sample data. Click through the Competition, Duel and Insights tabs, flip a streak card or open Edit Habits. Once you connect Notion, your own widget shows your own habits instead.

What the widget shows

The widget reads the habit database you connect. You never type numbers into it by hand: each time you open it, it syncs your checkboxes and recalculates. A nightly sync at your local midnight closes the day if you did not open it.

Streaks for every habit

Each habit gets its own card with the current streak, a streak bar and your longest streak. Flip a card to see its completion rate and total completions. A row of perfect days counts the days you finished everything.

Today's progress bar

A bar under your streaks shows how much of today you have done, as a percentage of today's habits. Update syncs again on the spot after you tick a box.

Weekly goals and schedules

A habit can be daily, every few days or a number of times per week. A times-per-week habit shows this week's progress and keeps a weekly streak instead of a daily one.

Insights

The Insights tab charts your completion trend by week, month or year, for all habits or one at a time. The monthly view adds a heatmap per habit, next to your all-time records.

Competitions and leaderboards

Create a competition from the widget or join one through a friend's invite link. The Competition tab shows the live leaderboard with points and completion rates for every member, plus an invite link and your past competitions.

1-on-1 duels

Challenge one friend to a duel over the habits you pick for a set number of days. The Duel tab puts the two of you side by side with completion rate and perfect days.

Edit habits from inside Notion

Edit Habits lets you add, rename, reorder or delete habits and set their schedule, right in the widget. You never have to edit database properties by hand.

Freeze days and share cards

Freeze Today protects a streak on a day you cannot make it. Share Streak turns your current streaks into an image you can post.

Set it up in three steps

  1. Connect your Notion habit database. Create a free account and click Connect Notion. On the Notion screen keep Duplicate template to get the free habit tracker template, or choose Select pages and pick a database you already use with one row per day and a checkbox per habit.
  2. Get your personal widget link. If you took the template, the widget is already embedded on its page and you are done. For your own database, the page you land on after connecting shows your personal widget link with a copy button.
  3. Paste it into Notion as an embed. Open the Notion page where you want the widget, type /embed, paste the link and confirm. Resize the block until it fits.

Common questions

Is the Notion habit tracker widget free?

Yes. The widget and everything in it are free for individuals: streaks, the progress bar, Insights, competitions and duels. There is no paid tier for individuals, no trial that runs out and no card to enter.

Do I need Notion formulas for the widget?

No. Your database only needs one row per day with a checkbox for each habit. Notion Habit Heroes reads those checkboxes through the Notion API and computes streaks, completion rates and points on its own server, so there is no formula to write or maintain.

Does the widget work with my own habit tracker?

Yes, as long as each day is one row with a checkbox per habit. Choose Select pages when you connect and pick your database. See which templates work as they are. Starting fresh? Keep Duplicate template instead: the template comes with the widget already embedded.

Is my widget link safe to share?

No, keep it to yourself. The link carries a personal token. Anyone who has it can use the widget as you, for example to edit your habits. Keep the widget on a private Notion page and do not publish that page to the web.

Can my friends see my widget?

They cannot open your widget, which only works with your personal link. When you are in a competition together, they see you on its leaderboard with your points and completion rate. In a duel, your opponent sees your completion rate and perfect days next to theirs.
