The week rose like a tide. A quiet Monday, two fresh guides midweek, then the wave broke twice: 29 changes merged on Friday, 37 more on Sunday. In between, the app moved to Notion's new API model, every email got a one-click way out, duels learned to fight over a single habit. 89 changes shipped across the app and the site, carried out by four production deploys.

New guides on the blog
Two new guides landed: a hands-on roundup of the best Notion habit tracker templates plus a listicle of habit tracker mistakes worth avoiding. A third post tells the story behind our integration friendship with 2sync. The blog index now groups posts by category, so guides, essays, engineering notes and changelog entries each have their own shelf.
The live demo grew up
The widget now runs without an account in a full demo mode. The template page swapped its static preview for that live demo, so you can click through streaks, the tavern, even freeze days before ever connecting Notion. The homepage feature videos were re-recorded as guided tours. Demo-only controls grey out instead of failing silently.
Freeze days are free now
Freeze days moved out of the Pro plan. Every user can now shield a streak with a tavern day. The pricing page, the template page and the guides all say so.
Duels: one habit, more heart
Duels can now be fought over a single habit instead of whole-account scores. Pick a habit when you challenge; your opponent picks theirs when they accept. Cheering got a second version: canned messages, a nudge when your opponent missed yesterday, an email when someone cheers you on. The duel widget got a usability pass on top: readable result banners, a fresh-duel button on finished duels, confirm dialogs that work inside Notion's sandboxed embed, live updates while an invite is pending.
Keeping pace with Notion's API
Notion is evolving its API toward a new data-source model. We moved with it: the integration now speaks the new shape while staying tolerant of the old one. Connecting a template that contains several databases produces a clear explanation instead of a silent failure. The connect flow's workspace search paginates properly, so large workspaces no longer risk missing the right database.
Email: easier to leave, nicer to receive
Every mail we send now carries a one-click unsubscribe that mail providers honor directly. Each HTML mail ships a plain-text twin. Unsubscribe links in footers are stable now; they no longer break when your account state changes. Unglamorous work that keeps us out of spam folders.
Honest numbers
A batch of scoring corrections. Longest-streak stats reset cleanly when a habit's schedule changes, seeded from the true longest run rather than the most recent one. Ticking off yesterday's habit retroactively now counts into weekly quotas, with freeze days respected. A crash in the newsletter settings for a rare account state is fixed.
Groundwork for groups
The first bricks of group accounts are in: a group can be set up with shared Pro access, members can be invited by mail, membership can be managed or left. A join page on the site catches invite links. Nothing launches publicly yet; this was a foundation week.
Knowing what works
Our cookieless analytics got sharper. Signups now record which page referred them, so we can tell which guides actually help people find us. A daily rollup condenses habit activity into anonymized cross-user aggregates with no names attached, built to answer questions like whether streaks survive weekends.
Quality gates
Every proposed change now passes a full automated build before review. Architecture rules that used to live only in docs are enforced by tests, so a shortcut across layer boundaries fails the build. A nightly end-to-end suite exercises the whole stack against a simulated Notion, unattended.
